Abstract :
This paper presents a system architecture for future personal communications hardware that is flexible and fully reprogrammable, for ease of adaptation to new standards. It concentrates on receiver technology, dividing the system into two parts-the RF section and the signal processing functions-and considering some of the functions to be performed within the signal processing section, and their computational requirements
