Abstract :
This paper presents design, fabrication and characterization of a 60 GHz quarter-wave patch antenna based on a benzocyclobutene polymer. The design was made using Ansoft HFSS software. The patch and ground plane size are adjusted to have a desired resonant frequency. The fabrication was realized with BCB multiple coating and metallization on pyrex glass #7740. The implemented antenna size was 2.5 times 2.5 times 0.05 mm3. The manufactured patch antenna mounted on V-connector has been characterized using HP network analyzer for return loss and a range-calibration setup for a radiation pattern. The results showed a return loss of 10 dB at 64 GHz and a gain of -1.7 dB.
