  • Abstract
Adaptation is often a discussed topic in the field of web technologies. There is a need to personalize the information presented to the user. One of the primary problems is how to store the content within the system. The information should be understandable not only to the users who use the system, but also to the computers which prepare the data for the users. This can be achieved through the use of semantic web technologies. We propose a model for adaptive systems based on semantic representation and ontologies. We will describe the architecture of our general metamodel for adaptive systems and also our simple implementation of an e-learning system, which will be continuously extended to verify our research. We aim to create a formal description of a model, which will enable interchange of data, reuse of information and personalized search.
