Abstract :
A perceived lack of spectrum at the lower frequency bands arises due to unfavourable comparison between the spectrum utilization of terrestrial cellular mobile systems and satellite mobile. Advances in millimetre RE technology from both civil and military R&D programmes have produced devices and systems which make 20/30 GHz satellite mobile concepts feasible and offer some interesting advantages over lower frequency systems
