Abstract
Missions involving unmanned aerial vehicles require extensive searching for potential targets from above. Antennas fitted to such vehicles are mounted on two gimbals for allowing full movement about the azimuth and elevation plane with respect to the body axis. In real time there is a need to use the available searching time optimally. It is worthwhile to tune the azimuth search angle within available time and energy constraints. This work shows how tentative a priori knowledge about the search area along with navigational information may be utilized for developing better search strategy.
