Abstract :
The paper focuses on the analysis of pulse width modulation strategies for a three-level Active neutral point clamped multilevel inverter (ADCMLI) for wind energy systems. A novel double carrier pulse width modulation (DCPWM) technique with inverted sine has been proposed for ADCMLI and it is compared with the conventional multicarrier pulse width modulation techniques. Both the PWM technique has been investigated by employing carriers of variable frequency to achieve balanced switching actions. Simulation studies have been carried out in MATLAB and spectral quality of the output has been compared. Also, the performance of ADCMLI has been compared with the conventional diode clamped MLI for wind applications.
