Title :
Qualitative modelling of dynamical systems for on-line diagnosis-knowledge acquisition vs. structured modelling
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The paper concerns the problem of finding qualitative models for a given dynamical system. It is shown that the principal modelling steps that are used in well-known modelling and identification methods in control theory can also be applied to qualitative modelling. This provides a systematic framework to find qualitative or even mixed quantitative-qualitative descriptions of dynamical systems
