Abstract :
The Sizewell B nuclear power station has a net output of 1183 MW. In achieving this the station relies on auxiliary plant and services whose electrical power is supplied from the AC power systems. The total connected load is in excess of 100 MW. The author considers the designs of both the essential electrical systems and the main electrical power systems and illustrate how they satisfy the safety design criteria and licensing requirements
