  • Abstract
Rapid evolution of the Internet and wireless network technology enables people to access multimedia contents and services using mobile devices in a wireless environment. This trend, combined with other technologies opens many new possibilities in a daily life. For example, if people are visiting unfamiliar places like museum or exhibition, they would like to make a reminiscent tour summary so that they can retrospect what they had seen later. So far, we used either camera or camcorder to capture any interesting spots. This might cause inconvenience to them and the visitors considering such places are usually crowded. But if the place is equipped with ubiquitous devices and sensors, then it might be possible to generate such summary automatically without requiring any fussy actions to the visitor. In this paper, we present an exhibition reminiscent system for generating tour summary in a ubiquitous environment. First, we describe a data model for capturing relevant context information for the summary. Second, we implement a prototype system based on the model and report some of the experiment result on how well the system generates tour summaries in a typical scenario.
