Abstract :
A high-efficiency common control channel structure for digital mobile radio systems is described. It is spectrum efficient and is suitable for providing a variety of services, such as ISDN (integrated services digital network) services. A layered signaling structure and call-control sequences using a layered protocol are presented. The common control channel structure for a digital mobile radio system is proposed. It can handle any traffic distribution and can realize economical base stations
