Abstract
Broadly speaking, the goal of tomographic systems is to decrease the uncertainty on the some parameters of interest, like the shape of an object, or its permittivity distribution, as much as possible. This observation naturally suggests the analysis of tomographic systems using techniques developed in Information Theory. The aim of this conference paper is to introduce a possible approach. The method allows to quantify the amount of information obtainable in presence of statististical information on the quantity of interest, and give an insight on the information flow in tomographic systems.
