Abstract :
A novel frequency-tuning method has been devised, which is based on the conventional technique which uses a birefringent filter within the laser cavity. The new method allows polarisation-controlled frequency tuning of a fibre laser with an intra-cavity polarisation element. A demonstration of this method is reported
