Abstract
Much interest has been shown in the literature regarding the analysis of complex planar components such as are found in modern (M)MIC´s. Most of the published results have, however, required the use of a large computer. In this contribution a technique is described, based on the finite element method, whereby rigorous analyses of moderately complex microwave circuits may be obtained on a relatively small desk-top computer. Results obtained using an IBM PC-AT compatible are presented for coupled hairpin resonators. These show good agreement with results obtained using more computationally expensive methods
