Abstract :
The geometric optics based RLD produced impressive initial results. This fast and accurate design tool generates good first-cut designs that can serve as a starting point in more computationally intensive EM codes. The measured results validated the RLD simulations. Finally, the effect of introducing a bend in the beamformer was empirically studied and it was found that such alterations introduced negligible effects on the performance of the lens.
