Abstract :
RF applications like antenna miniaturization, call for low-loss impedance matched materials (epsivpsilar = mupsilar). In this paper we address the challenges in realizing these materials for antennas. After reviewing the fundamental properties of ferrimagnetics (domains, loss mechanisms) we provide measurements of their magnetic and dielectric properties. We also discuss ways for overcoming prevailing limitations associated with ferrites.
