Abstract :
A 75% size reduction of the dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is achieved by incorporating the concept of electric conductor and magnetic conductor. To validate this concept, an infinite perfect electric conductor (PEC) and perfect magnetic conductors (PMC) planes with the presence of the source are used in an ideal situation. Then, a finite electric conductor and a high dielectric constant interface are applied to reduce the DRA size in a realistic situation. The antenna size is reduced while keeping the frequency band within the original frequency band of the full size case.
