Abstract :
The use of non-sinusoidal carriers in ultra-wide band communication systems requests a new regard on the parameters that characterize the antennas. Parameters and characteristics defined for a given frequency, like pattern diagram, gain, and input impedance, must be replaced by appropriate time-domain parameters, like impulse response, time-domain reflection coefficient, and time-domain gain. In this paper, we propose to use the method of moments to solve the linear equation of the convolution in the time-domain. The choice of the set of basis functions used to expand the unknown impulse response must take into account its distributional behavior. That leads to a good computing accuracy with relatively few functions
