Abstract :
TOBI is an experimental deep-towed sonar system developed by the Institute of Oceanographic Sciences Deacon Laboratory primarily for investigation of the ocean floor and its underlying structure. The following aspects of the system are discussed: two-bodied tow system; transducer arrays; sonar electronics; telemetry; data logging and display; replay system; and underwater vehicle handling
