Abstract :
The lens on the front of a television camera is the first in a long line of subsystems which together make up a TV broadcast system. Its performance, together with that of the camera, will have a very significant bearing on the final image which the observer sees. This paper reviews briefly the main optical parameters to be assessed, and discusses some of the current and imminent challenges with which one is faced when measuring these parameters
