Abstract :
The first part of this paper deals with definitions, measuring conditions, presentation of results, and equipment for carrying out measurements. The second part relates typical test results that can be obtained when the performance of lenses is measured in accordance with the procedures described. Some guidance is given on the effect of the various lens errors in the picture, and advice is offered concerning the specific requirements on camera lenses according to their application
