Abstract
An analytical model has been developed to analyze the throughput of the Advanced Train Control System (ATCS) inbound RF channel for a finite number of mobiles. The inbound channel access protocol is a special version of the carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) protocol. The model is intended to provide an analytical method of predicting the effect of packet collisions and retries on inbound RF channel throughput
