Abstract
Proportional navigation guidance is used in many tactical missiles. It is well known that sinusoidal or weave manoeuvres on the part of target can induce large miss distances for these missiles. An optimal guidance law based on sinusoidal target manoeuvre model is derived. Since the miss distance performance of this guidance law is very sensitive to the sinusoidal manoeuvre frequency, a method to accurately estimate this frequency is presented
