Abstract :
A novel Packet level clock extraction scheme using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is proposed in this paper, which is based on the effects of fast gain saturation and relatively slow gain recovery of in SOA. We demonstrated experimentally for 40-Gb/s optical packets at simplified configuration, and obtained more than 10-dB intensity contrast ratio.
