Abstract

This paper uses metadata technology in the field of information retrieval, and a Web information retrieval model based on metadata and query expansion is designed. In the model the method of metadata design, metadata extraction, metadata storage and query expansion are expatiated. The experiment result shows that the method based on metadata and query expansion can improve the Web information retrieval efficiency and precision, and it is a practical approach for the task of Web text information retrieval.
