Abstract :
In conclusion, wider operating bandwidths can be realized with 3lambda/8 monopole antenna elements and a switch-able capacitive load circuit. This paper recognizes that a single monopole antenna has a bandwidth limitation and provides an electronic method to address the limitation. Typical applications that can benefit from this proposed configuration are portable radio whip antennas, fixed and mobile radio antennas particularly at the VHF and UHF public safety bands.
