Abstract :
A blind frequency offset estimation algorithm for OFDM transmission over power line channels is proposed. Different with most conventional algorithms which operate in time domain, the proposed blind estimator exploits the shift autocorrelation function in frequency domain of the received signals, without requirement of any assistant information. Moreover, the estimation accuracy is found to be insensitive to SNR and frequency selectivity of channels. Specifically, simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed estimator is better than ML-based algorithm and pilot-tone aided algorithm especially in low SNR conditions, thus indicating its suitability for use over power line channels
