Abstract
The complementary nature of single photon emission tomography (SPECT) and transmission computed tomography (CT) is demonstrated in two clinical applications: (i) dosimetry of targetted radiotherapy and (ii) determination of the pulmonary distribution of drug administered as aerosol by metered dose inhaler. In order to perform multi-modality image analysis it is necessary to be able to transfer the images to a common data processing computer. In this study it has been achieved by transfer of both image sets via magnetic media to a VAX 11/730 computer with Sigmex A7000 display processor running PICS image processing software
