Abstract :
This paper discusses two methods (one existing and one new) for the biomechanical analysis of an athlete and the potential for the integration of the systems to provide a better method of analysis. The MacReflex optoelectronic automatic tracking system (Qualisys Inc. Sweden) which carries out 3-D analysis of human movement will be described along with a recently developed specialised dataglove (TLA R&D, England) which provides positional information regarding the hand. In addition, results obtained from a pilot study of one finger component of the dataglove are presented
