Abstract :
An advisory approach has been taken to the development of two prototype knowledge-based systems for the simulation and design of multi-input multi-output control systems. The Control System Simulation Adviser (CSS-Adviser) and the Control System Design Adviser (CSD Adviser) were developed on the belief that they were not to initiate any operation without the user´s approval. However, during most of the simulation or design process, they can guide the user in making the necessary decisions, help him interpret results, and discover errors which may arise
