Abstract
Professor Tai has made significant contributions to our understanding of the self impedance of a dipole (through his use of a variational technique) and the mutual impedance between dipoles (through his solution of coupled integral equations). These achievements have had impact not only on the design of dipole arrays but also on the design of waveguide-fed slot arrays, despite the disparity in methods of feeding.
