Abstract
With the increasing demand of video services, efficient detection approaches are required to deal with the increasing amount of sport video like baseball, tennis and soccer. Specially, due to characteristics of soccer game, timeliness is a foremost. So apart from efficient performance, real-time or near real-time performance is crucial. In this paper, we propose an effective method for soccer video analysis based on macro-block information. The algorithm utilizes the statistic and distribution of MB type in every B frame and P frame, which is able to detect shot changes in real time, with high levels of recall and precision.
