Abstract :
A system of three coupled microstrip lines on two dielectric interfaces is analyzed and its design parameters are calculated by using the method of lines. Based on this system an improved coupler structure is designed and realized. The improvement lies mainly in using coupled lines on different dielectric interfaces so that tight coupling and reasonable values for the other scattering parameters are obtained which are impossible to be achieved in the edge coupling case
