Abstract
The author discusses the advantages of digital television for terrestrial broadcasting. The digital signal can be broadcast at power levels one hundred times below analog signals. Consequently, frequency spectrum scarcity is no longer a problem. He proposes development of a high definition digital TV standard, and replacement of analog TV with an all digital system
