Abstract :
The term hierarchal career plateau is defined as the point in a career where the likelihood of additional hierarchical promotion is very low. Recent changes in the Chinese business environment have resulted in greater numbers of people competing for fewer promotional opportunities. In order to solve this common phenomenon in the employee´s career development, this article firstly set a model of plateauing which provides comprehensive insights into its mechanism on the basis of empirical studies. Based on the mechanism model, the article secondly in detail demonstrated the positive coping strategies for employees, supervisors and organizations in Chinese culture, respectively. Though acting together, the three-party managerial strategies can shape the combined strength that effectively solves the hierarchical career plateau.
