  • Abstract
The problem of enabling a VLSI designer to operate at various description levels during the chip development is addressed. In particular, the use of object-orientated programming has made it possible to solve the problem in a very simple and modular way. The EDIF format has been used for the input/output operations, and it is also possible to visualize cells and modify them. All these actions are available through the use of friendly windows with a suitable set of menus
