Abstract
Software quality is a multi-faceted concept. For any software product, measures associated with its attributes should collectively reflect likely user satisfaction with use of the product over its lifetime. This paper outlines some of the basic conceptual properties of software quality. It indicates how one might usefully approach the development of a quality descriptor by means of a structured categorisation schema
