Abstract :
The paper focuses on issues surrounding achievement of harmonised telecommunications standards and approval procedures. In analysing the issues the paper provides an overview of the standards making bodies and authorities tasked with developing mandatory and voluntary standards. The paper also covers the emerging European telecommunication regulation which when implemented should create a harmonised approval process at least within Europe
