Video analytics: Past, present, and future

Over the last quarter of a century or so a great deal of money and effort has been devoted developing video analytic solutions which until relatively recently has led to little deployment of these technologies. It could be argued that this has been rather disappointing but the availability of much greater computer power, realistic data sets, and potential customers having more confidence in deploying these technologies we will see the developers´ efforts gaining more widespread use in the years ahead.
