Abstract :
At the very high rates now under consideration the realisation of the filter as a monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) is an attractive alternative. Such an approach also offers easy integration of the filter with other receiver signal processing operations with attendant cost and reliability benefits. This paper first justifies why a new approach was required for the optimisation of these GaAs filters. An outline of the technique developed is given and illustrative results achieved using this new technique are compared with the results of a more conventional optimisation approach
