Abstract :
We propose and demonstrate an all-optical modulation format conversion from RZ-DQPSK to RZ-OOK. We apply a supercontinuum based optical thresholder for the improvement of signal quality and allocation of two channels of DQPSK data in the two wavelengths. In the demonstration, we achieve error-free modulation format conversion after 50 km transmission at 10 Gbaud. 20 Gbit/s DQPSK data is split into two 10 Gbit/s OOK data in the two different wavelengths.
