Abstract :
The Diffraction Radiation Oscillator (DRO) is a new millimeter wave device. A review of the structure, operating mechanism, open cavity is given in this paper. Theoretical and experimental studies of DRO have been carried out. The main design parameters are also reported. The new device has achieved the following: from 1500V to 4000V, the tube operates in 57-87 GHz band, and the maximum output power is approximately 1.1W.
