Abstract
This paper investigates the resource allocation problem for Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) systems in Long Term Evolution (LTE) uplink. Two inherent constraints, contiguous Resource Block (RB) assignment and robust Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS), are considered in the process of allocating resources. The resource allocation problem is first formulated and a heuristic algorithm further proposed to find feasible solution to the problem. The performance of the heuristic algorithm is evaluated through simulations by comparing with Round-Robin scheduling. The simulation results show that sum throughput of the method is high and the starvation ratio is low.
