Abstract :
A new type of dielectric resonator used in millimeter wave band is presented, which is called whispering gallery mode dielectric resonator (WGDR). We also derived a method to calculate its resonant frequency and realized a simple band-stop filter in W-band with leuco sapphire mono-crystal dielectric resonator and rexolite dielectric waveguide. The results show that WGDR has many advantages.
