Abstract :
This paper investigates the laser ignition mechanism and how the wavelength of laser radiation affects the plasma formation. Two-wavelength laser ignition is achieved by using the emitted green (532 nm) and infrared (1064 nm) light from a KTP crystal from second harmonic generation. The two wavelengths are compared with respect to plasma characteristics and two-color laser ignition.
