Abstract :
Yb:CaGdAlO4 has been recently proved to be very interesting for the development of diode-pumped short-pulse mode-locked lasers. The generation of both very short pulse and high average power femtosecond oscillators has been demonstrated (68 fs pulses at an average power of 520 mW). Laser cavity has been extended to allow the increase of the energy per pulse for the same average power (reduction of the repetition rate). Short pulses (sub-100 fs) with lower repetition rate have been obtained.
