  • Abstract
This work presents results of an actual transposition study where the electromagnetic interaction between two parallel lines was considered. The simulation models used to represent the network and to consider electromagnetic interaction are explained. In order to determine the optimal phase swapping at the transposition points a swap sequence system (SSS) was developed. This system systematically considers every possible transposition sequence, and determines the optimal swap sequence at the transposition point(s) in order to maintain minimum voltage unbalance under various line loading conditions. The effects of line loading and power factor on the voltage unbalance in transposed lines is also presented. Using the findings above, the results of an actual transposition study in order to determine the optimal swap sequence and number of transposition points on the lines are presented.
