Title :
Designing reliable photonic systems with renewable energy source
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Network energy optimization provides benefits to the operator as the OpEx decreases due to efficient energy design on network and site level, and positively impacts Total Cost of Ownership. Using a renewable energy source on the active components of a WDM-PON system enhances these advantages in terms of reduction in carbon footprint. Reliability of a three port 100 GHz DWDM device used in WDM-passive optical network (PON) system with renewable energy source for powering the transmitters is investigated in this paper.
