Abstract
The RealNeuron is a type of spiking neuron based on the descriptions of biological neurons and is simple enough to be simulated on standard desktop personal computers in a reasonable time. A mathematical model is presented of the RealNeuron that is suited for optimisation purposes. A RealNeuron network, if configured correctly, has short term and long term memory.
