Abstract :
A Japanese national project `Bioelectronic Devices Project´ was started in 1986 to develop key technologies for designing and assembling innovative bio-mimetic devices with such functions as information processing of a living organism. The project focuses on such functions as plasticity, molecular recognition, and self-organization. Results of the project are described
