Abstract :
The authors explain how statistical process control (SPC) was successfully implemented in a large manufacturing facility. The broad philosophies that resulted in the successful implementation incorporate the following ingredients that were necessary to make the program successful: top management commitment, SPC training, an organized approach to implementation, and an SPC career path. Each of these topics is discussed. Auditing SPC implementation is considered
